I used to see them dumped on the side of the road. I haven’t seen a one this Summer.

When walking around Amsterdam I was nearly run over by a bike as I strayed onto a cycle path, they have lots of SPACE, we do not so it cannot work the same way in the UK, Also they do not go our like nutters in large groups blocking our narrow roads with attitude, good discipline in the Netherlands. exactly the point the reporter was making! When bicycles have dedicated lanes they don’t block the road for cars, and I have to strongly disagree about the good discipline, don’t know where you have seen that but I won’t have been in Amsterdam. I live 3km/2 miles from Dublin City centre. I have cycled everyday for 30 years. I was in London for 4 days in early October 2015 and used London bikes to get around.
The traffic was alot less than I thought it would be. Seeing the city instead of being stuck in the underground was so much more enjoyable. Yes it did not rain on those four days. Maybe cycling does not suit everyone all of the time but there are alot of people who could and should cycle at least some of the time or as much as they can. Erm what a nonsense. We have no money for individuals to buy bikes. Nowhere safe to ride them. No interest in tackling bike theft from the Police. A huge population of fatty”s that would NEVER actually do anything to help themselves. Oh and a country that is most definitely not flat.
