I hope she gets help and can come back again some day to the J Cole Shirt, Hip Hop Shirt . She is too good at what she does to give up. She needs more support from family and friends especially when she starts getting this way. She did the right thing for her. Not being in the right J Cole Shirt, Hip Hop Shirt  to perform can cause her to get seriously injured if she does a poorly executed move. If you don’t have your head in the game, especially in gymnastics you can end up with a life-changing injury. It’s good for her to work on her mind as much as her body, to be in a safe place to compete. If she was not focused and just performed for the sake of it, you don’t know what damage could be done. Also if you feel you’re performing poorly and can jeopardize the team’s prospects, then you need to pull out.

Can’t help wondering though how much of the pulling out was a sensible team move and how much was real mental issue. Or perhaps both. It would be awful if mental health issues were used to get a sympathetic response … terrible for folks who’d be in real distress. I completely understand that’s she’s looking out for herself and I agree with her decision,but she could have stood down before the J Cole Shirt, Hip Hop Shirt  and her place given to another gymnast to gain much needed experience,I wish her a speedy recovery. Anyone not in the sport can’t possibly know the stresses and pressures these athletes deal with. Good on her for realizing what she needs to stay healthy, mentally, emotionally, physically. She’s a perfect 10 in my book.Not sure how anybody can criticise..unless you’ve been in her position and what she’s had to deal with in her past and now present is an awful lot for anyone to have had to deal and cope with..she was clearly not right and made the right decision. And it isn’t a sign of weakness! Mental illness is no joke. I am torn with this…. She is at the Olympic and isn’t in the right mindset to be there… she is taking up a spot that someone else could have had who really wants to be there. They should let an alternate compete in her place.and they are. Jordan Chiles subbed in for her in the team final. Jade Carey is taking her spot in the individual all-around.
